Ornament Party Chaos

Oh my goodness! Yes, it’s fun to get together and play the game. It is fun to tussle about and play the steal part of the game. Some people steal it to be mean, some people steal it because it’s the one they really want. Then there are those of us who are there as “plants” just to make sure there is laughter and drama.

We are more of an outdoor, not fancy ornament type of people. Most people who come to this party are looking for beautiful or ornate. Our theory is we might get to bring home the ones we brought because no one else will like them.

One year we got tiny little outhouse ornaments and we really wanted them. We didn’t get them. Some woman had just bought a cabin on the mountain and she thought they would be perfect.  We were not happy. So we decided to play a little trick. We got her husband involved. (It is always good to have a partner in crime.) 

She had her tree all decorated. Her husband took her out to dinner and gave us the key to the cabin. We placed a giant grinch in the yard. We added toilet paper as garland to the tree. (We wrapped it with ribbon, it was almost pretty. ) We hid the presents all over the cabin and we disappeared before they got back.

We then headed to my house, because no one knows where I live. (She lives about an hour and a half away from me,) We have never confessed and she has accused many people. Her husband knows but he has remained silent for years.

I was not going this year. There is too much going on. I didn’t have time to buy an ornament and make a treat for the party. I used every excuse I could come up with and she said she would come to drag me down if she had to. I  decided I would rather have my own car and come home early if I need to. (In truth I will probably stay down there.) I am sort of interested to see if it’s a calm and rather boring party or if this will be a rowdy funfilled year.
