I am propagating the insulin plants so I can give to people who are diabetics. So far, I was able to give away 5 plants to people in my circle. Based on my research, one leaf of the insulin plant when eaten daily would stabilize the blood sugar that you wouldn’t need insulin shots anymore hence the name. The leaf is chewed and can be swallowed. Even if the feedback is positive but I am still gathering more data from diabetics who are willing to test the insulin plant which I am giving for free.
The plant is easy to grow in any kind of soil. It can be propagated by cuttings or by splitting the grove that grows under the soil. Leaves can grow in a week or two.

Grows wildly and needs to be cut back all the time. I guess it belongs to the ginger family.
