My daily pictures – The red kiss of the summer – The poppy

Any fruit is first a flower.

Starting from this reality I thought it was interesting to start a photography project entitled “From flowers to fruits and seeds”.

A poppy is a flowering plant in the subfamily Papaveroideae of the family Papaveraceae.  Poppies are herbaceous annual, biennial or short-lived perennial plants, often grown for their colourful flowers. The fruit is a hairless, rounded capsule topped with 12–18 radiating stigmatic rays, or fluted cap.

Over time, poppies have been a symbol of sleep, peace and death.
