On one of our trips, this flower caught my attention. Yes, this is just an ordinary tropical flower called Bougainvillea. It’s thorny, and it doesn’t need much care. i like this one because it’s not the common one. Look closely to the flowers and you will see that
It is vine-plant and therefore, by having it on the frame it can help put a shade in the garden.
This plant comes in different colors. Yellow, white, pink, red and apple green.
Do you have Bougainvillea in your place? How do you call this plant?

I grew up in Miami, Florida and believe it or not in my elementary school we were required to learn about flowers. I was taught that Ponce de Leon gave our state that name “Florida” because it came from a word that meant “full of flowers”. We were taught and tested on the names of flowers that grew in Florida. I distinctly remember being taught about bougainvilleas. These flowers have been on my list of favorite flowers for over 50 years.
Awesome flower! I love the first photo!
thanks. I love taking ;pictures, now I am studying how to take pictures using my phone
it’s easier to take pictures with smartphone, then with camera, that needs much more knowlege and skills… But with camera you have much more opportunities and better picture quality, of corse.
I like all the colors – red, white and yellow. Here we all have.
that’s great . What i like in this flower is how it bloomed between the leaves .
I have not seen these flowers in our land
i think this is just for tropical countries. hmmm now it intrigued me if it grows in cold/snowy countries.
it looks tropical enough to grow in my neck of the woods…
yes, true. i went home last Friday and i was surprised to see that we have this type of Bougainvillea at home.
is it stalking you? can you get a restraining order for plants?
it’s okay i trained a little Muay Thai, this is nothing, just a bit thorny. I can manage, thanks for the well thought of suggestions.
the first time I saw somebody knee someone else in the face, I freaked
I do not know … I do not know if it grows with us
maybe there is no like this in Europe, only in Asia.
Wow that’s a beautiful flower and I love the pink color!
thanks and I am proud to say that it’s different from other bougainvillea. because the flowers are stuck in between the leaves.
Shhh… You remind me of my bougainvillea bonsai which died after being transferred from one pot to another last month.
lol but I can’t imagine bougainvillea bonsai…was the flowers small too?
No. Bonsai bougainvillea does not make the leaves and flowers shrink like some other types of trees but it still beautiful.
but Albert look at the flowers … have you noticed it is different from other Bougainvillea?
Hmmm…
I can’t find the difference between that bougainvillea with the various other types of bougainvillea I’ve seen in my country. Maybe you can explain it.
look closely, you will notice that the flowers are in between the leaves.
Yes, I catch what you mean now. That is indeed unique.
I haven’t seen this beautiful flower in my area.
Thanks for replying, I appreciate that. yes this is more of a tropical country plant.
So beautiful, I love Bougainvilleas!
Thanks for replying, I appreciate this. Did you know that you can eat this too?
I had no idea! Does it have a specific taste or scent?
nahh but it can be put in a dessert or salad like the dandelion. though that dandelion is sweet.
Well, at least it adds up to the presentation of the salad.
I have never grown these beauties but have seen them. They are stunning.
Actually this one was a bit different from the ordinary. that’s why I fell in love with it.
