This is a late blooming waterlily. Some call it lazy lily. It blooms around midday while others bloom around 8-9 in the morning. Like most waterlilies it also closes up before sunset.
This picture was take a couple of years ago, I like it for the shadows and reflections of the plants near the waterlily pond. I hope you can see it too.
I love this macro challenge as it helps me focus a little more on the subject and in this case its surroundings too.
You can see the reflection of the coconut tree from my neighbor’s garden.

Beautiful photos for a beautiful flower in a beautiful atmosphere.
Thanks Albert for that fabulous comment.
You are most welcome, Sophie.
i love the blend of lilly and reflection of the sky! great capture!
Thanks Doc, you are very observant.
You are a keen observer to notice that this lily is a late bloomer. Beautiful yellow.
I always want to know when my waterlilies bloom. I am not a fan of late bloomers because they don’t make for great pictures in the midday sun. I have to wait till evening to get a decent picture.
Poor lilies. They look pretty even if one is not keen on clicking a photo of them (lol)
Looks pretty but I cannot admire it for years to come if I don’t have them trapped digitally. LOL
My camera takes care of the lighting. You must be using your mobile
Like sunshine, beautiful color.
I love that color too. Sadly it doesn’t bloom that often.
Beautiful water lily and a great shot of it!
Thank you Karen, glad you like it.

When I saw the color I decided to get it. I am fond of that color too .
Great picture, dear Dawn … in addition to the flower, the reflection is unique
