Gifts for baby? Or Not: 5 Things to Give to a New Mom

When I gave birth to my children almost all the presents that I received were for my babies only a close friend remembered to give me a present too. When a woman has just been a mother, the baby immediately becomes the center of attention, but I believe that it is important, not to forget to give the new mommy a present because she deserves it too.

Here are some examples of presents for the mother:

1- Care packages – Knowing the tastes of mom is important in case you wish to spoil her with a kit of this sort. A “care package” is nothing less than a little box with little things she likes. Chocolate bars, tea, creams, books … Everything is valid to make the new mother feel special and cherished.

2- Meals – The birth of a baby completely changes the routines of a family. For the recent mom, these changes make her have less time to care for and feed herself properly. Preparing a very cozy meal, such as lasagna, for example, will be an appreciated gesture. For those who do not know or do not have time to cook, many are the restaurants that offer food out. To complete the present, a special treat can also be added. Why not a favorite dessert?

3- Housecleaning – Like meals, household chores take second place when a baby is born. A precious help is, therefore, to take some time to go and clean up Mom’s house. In this way, mom can focus only on her baby for some time, without worrying about anything else. In this case, you can combine the best time with the mother, or even surprise.

4- A massage – A massage or a trip to the spa are gifts that will provide moments of relaxation very welcome in this new phase. Although only for an hour or two, Mom will be able to focus only on her and her well-being which is sometimes overlooked for the needs of the baby. If the father is not available, offering to stay with the baby during that time is a special extra.

5- Flowers – Traditional, but always adored and fashionable: flowers arouse good humor and are an invitation to good energies. Since there are flowers of various shapes and colors, choosing the right bouquet for each person becomes easier.

These are only a very few options that I personally would love to receive but there are many more things that I am sure new moms will love.
