There are many things I have kept over the years. Memories are forever in my heart of Dustin. But there are also little gifts he gave me that I will never part with.
This Valentine’s card is one of those priceless treasures. He was so excited. We went to a store, I gave him money and he went to the other side of the store. He picked out this card and a small box of chocolates. And he hid it from me in his room until the next day, which was Valentine’s Day.
He was so proud when he gave me my gift and card. Raising him as a single parent, this is how we did things. If he wanted to surprise me, which he often did, we would go to different parts of a store, then meet up at a certain time. Back in the day when it was safe to do this.
I will never forget these precious moments. He always wanted to make me smile. And he still does even after he is gone. Love you Dustin!

Those are very precious memories. I have many saved up over the years and the one thing above all I remember that when I first started working in NYC I was so thankful to my mom for getting me through school that since I knew she loved carnations I would often pick up a bouquet in different colors when I came home from work. She loved it.
Yes they are. You have them as well. I feel blessed. Those moments help get us through.
