Eurasian nutcracker (Nucifraga caryocatactes).
When they come across an abundance of food, they prepare their warehouses.
During the week on the mountain not so many tourists are picked up and food is scarce.
But in this case, they are so hungry that they fight even for a single peanut.
Frankly, they ate a mixture of 2 kgs of nuts and peanuts for nearly 1 hour!

Wonder what nuts it prefers to crack!
They generally feed on the seeds of pine cones, but do not give up nuts and peanuts.
Beautiful bird and well equiped for cracking nuts open we don’t have these in New Zealand.
I watched them drill a walnut shell into the soft part where the handle is and take it to their warehouse
They must be amazing birds to watch.

They are mainly distributed in Asia and the high mountains of Europe.

Never see this bird. It lives in Romania but not in my area.
According to ornithologists it should be in the Carpathians. But there is little time left to watch. From mid-February it begins to nest and is difficult to see in the trees.
