Actually the idea came to my mind when I saw a biker was hit by a stationery car driver opened the door suddenly and hit a passing by girl on a bike. She had it recorded by his helmet camera. She won a case against the car driver for careless behavior.
I think the time has come in our part of the world when we should start wearing a helmet while walking on the footpaths as you never know who will crash into you with eyes glued on his phone. I think the time has come when we should start wearing a camera for our safety.
I have seen some accidents happening when people just don’t care when they are walking, riding or even driving talking on their phone. I personally avoid people talking on their phone while walking on the footpath without caring for others. I feel the time has come when I should also use a helmet camera while walking in crowded place for my own safety.

I do not believe it will be practical. We will have security, but while we are on the road, we have to be responsible. This market is not safe (by thieves). I will not visit him.
Good, yes, you should take care for your own safety.
I would say, people should not walk talking on a phone on a public road because it is unsafe for them.
However, they can do it legally.
We don’t have many people on our roads, but there are some people around who are not nice, and those with head phones on are prime targets for human predators.
They cant hear them coming.
It must be really bad to need a helmut to go walking.
You are right, there are not many people talking on phone while walking or driving in OZ but when I go to my original country which is too crowded and nobody seems to care about rules it really makes me worried.
People are becoming insensitive, I would say.
People doing to make their own life happy but in turn they face serious trouble.
In my opinion, the pedestrian helmet is not necessary … there is no obligation for us for cyclists …. just for children … I think that by the age of 12 … this is my opinion
It’s mandatory in most countries but some people enjoy breaking the rules.
We are very similar here … we say that the regulations are in order to be violated
I would use the helmet to knock some sense into peoples head and ask them to follow the rules and show more concern for others. LOL

I agree and there are many who take chances every day, even riding scooters without helmets.
Same here in my native country but Australia is free from such law breakers though!
If your idea is captured by a helmet maker and they then arrange it with the government as a law, many people will be bothered… LOL

I refuse to hide my light under a bushel. Unless I am on a motorcycle…
In other words, we are only willing to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle and not for anything else…
The idea is already getting ground. People right now are doing it for enjoyment though!
