I like cooking and date and walnut cake is one of my favourite recipes. I normally bake this cake at Christmas time.
Here is the recipe
Ingredients
225 gms flour
225 gms sugar
170 gms butter
450 gms dates preferably black
110 gms small walnut pieces
4 eggs
one teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
200 ml hot water
Method
stone dates and mince them. soak them in hot water to which the baking soda is added, Keep overnight
Sieve flour and baking powder – keep for half an hour
Beat sugar and butter well
Add gently well beaten eggs
Gently add flour spoon by spoon to the mixture – beat well
Add dates spoon by spoon beating all the while
Add cinnamon powder and walnut pieces
Line a baking tin, pour the mixture
And bake at 190 degrees
It should not take more than 90 minutes

It will be ready in another half hour. I will let it cool, wrap it up with Christmas wrapping and push it through the screen. You have to be there to receive it (lol)
