  1. I would say “Up To a Point” on this one. I think it would be quite limiting if every character in a story was only a version of oneself. What about the power of imagination, and the use of observation – both from what one sees in other people and from what one has read?

The alternative is to say that there is no emotion that cannot be watered down to such an extent that it becomes universal, and in that case it has surely ceased to be a proper emotion.

    • ORANGE!!!

Whether the metaphorical reference to the fruit be it the aroma or the visual depiction, enticed or repulsed you, your imagination found the point of reference in the recesses of your own fertile mind, (fertile, because you write using many inputs of stimuli) So, yes to this statement:” The alternative is to say that there is no emotion that cannot be watered down to such an extent that it becomes universal, and in that case it has surely ceased to be a proper emotion.”
