The black and white challenge always has me wondering what I should post. I am forced to go back and look into my collection of pictures which would lie untouched if not for this challenge.
The moment I saw this picture I knew that it would be good to post this in black and white. Cormorants are big birds and rest on top of trees after a good meal. They are usually found on tree tops at the end of the day. Sometimes the trees are filled with them , strangely they like bare branches. This is something I have noticed through the years. I have no clue why.
Another strange thing about them is how they stand in the middle of the river or lake and dry themselves. They strike strange poses when they dry themselves.

Great picture though it looks a little scary. It reminds me of scenes from horror movies.
Haha.. I didn’t look at it that way. Now I see it.
wonderful black and white picture! birds are fun to capture if you can. I am not as likely as you to get the picture.
Doc, I love bird watching and I can wait for hours to capture birds with my lens.
I do not do as well with waiting for birds. I love bird watching. But I just always miss the picture!
These avid birds also live here, dear friend … fishermen most hate them … they devour a lot of fish
I can understand why the fishermen hate them 😀
I also, dear friend…………
What a gorgeous photo. I posted black and white yesterday, on the wrong day!
Haha, even though I post the pictures on the right day they get approved on the wrong day LOL , doesn’t make any difference I guess.
Such a great capture! I live far from the seaside, so I only see them when I travel there in summer.
Thank you ellie925 , these birds seem to crowd up even where there is a small water body. This picture was taken at a lake an artificial one at that.
That picture really fits in black and white. Cormoran there are good subjects, we call them pecuk.
Thank you , nice to know their name in your language.
You’re very much welcome, dear friend.
For your information, the dawn in my language is fajar.
Fajar sounds nice. Thanks dear Albert I know another world for my user name.
I have never participated in any of those challenges except those of colours and alphabets.
And as for those birds I do not know the names and probably they are here as well.
I am sure they are there. They are there near water bodies of any kind with fishes in them.
