Continuing with my Little Things series.
Consider Points of View Other Than Your Own
If you judge people, you’ll have no time to love them; so try not to judge or make assumptions until you know the whole story.
Be thankful for everyone you know (that one can be a challenge).
People are our greatest assets, so be kind and generous to one another.
What comes around goes around. We tend to get back what we put forth, so if we plant seeds of faith in one another, we will receive an abundance of faithful friends. ~Roberto Hemerez
A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference. ~Eeyore

Keeping an open mind is the best way in life, right?
-
Yes
-
No

If only this can be instilled in others, especially right now as we enter another election season with uncertainty looming high.
I am trying my best to share the word Thomas. So many need to seize the importance. Good to see you.
Open mind – that is a hard one. I know in the business world many say “i have an open mind” but open means different things.
I am open to listening does not mean the person hears.
I am open to change (means what?)
I always tell the people that work for me, I am open to being persuaded because that is closer to where people are.
Very true words. I just mean we should keep our mind open to hear other opinions. Doesn’t mean we will necessarily agree but it will help us all remain as a group and to be heard.
i suspect that is the hardest part of what open-minded is and can be!
Indeed it is the hardest. But necessary I believe. A good listener makes the difference.
there are many types of listening not all are open mineded.
I listen to defend my position
I listen to build my argument
I listen to hear.
My wife says active listening is the most powerful (the last one)!
The attitude of the other ones involved makes the difference as well. We all have to try to keep the same mentality. Talk about difficult!
a friend of mine always says that the answer to open-minded come from the question.
Does the person enter the conversation with the heart of a servant,
or do they enter the conversation expecting to be served?
I totally agree with you. What we give comes back to us.
Who are you to be able to judge my life? I know I’m not perfect (nor do I want to be), but before you start pointing at me with your finger make sure your hands are clean. (Bob Marley)
You make an excellent point. Nobody can judge anyone until you have walked in their shoes. Bob Marley knew what he was talking about!
You are absolutely right. We also have a great proverb:
Sweep in front of your own door first before sweeping the neighbor’s stairs.
That makes perfect sense, and yet it is sometimes hard to do.
Things in life are always hard to do. Always something or somebody trying to keep us down. Keep pushing through. You got this.
I hope your brother made it home.
So totally agree with Eeyore, helps to have compassion for others…You get more results from honey than vinegar.
Eeyore is my hero. 🙂 SO true indeed.
