Here is my pretty little sunbird hanging on to a bamboo branch having a drink. There is no nectar in the bamboo plants , so what is she drinking. Some pure, sweet water that heaven provides. The dew drops that collect on the leaves on cold nights is her first drink of the morning.
These tiny birds are less than 10 cm long and sing so sweetly in the mornings. These are the calls I wake up to each morning. They sound like a mix of tinkling of silver bells and chirping birds.
I love the males which have velvety purple black feathers, the females are dowdy greens like this one you see here. The females aren’t much to see. However, the juveniles have yellow breasts that make them look very cute.

Beautiful birds. I see them for the first time
Thank you Vidocka for the visit and the encouraging comment.
I have written many posts for the colour crazy challenges. Now there is an alphabet challenge by @alibb I have posted there as well.
I haven’t posted yet on the alphabet challenge. I’ll probably do one today. Been kind of busy.
A cute bird I have never seen.
Does it remind you of the humming bird though?
I like this challenge but there must be something very useful to human being in it ,
I like the challenge too, wonder what the color will be next.
I like the challenge and I have already posted some posts, my friend
I have been reading your posts and responding to them Lado. 🙂
I see and thank you very much, dear friend
My pleasure @lado. I love your pictures too.
Thanks for your kindness, dear friend
Awe, how cute is this! I haven’t seen a sunbird here. Don’t know if we have them or not. The resemble a hummer in a way.
They do resemble the humming birds but they are more stable and you can take pictures of them.
I like this challenge of Kim, it has existed for 2 or 3 years. I always participate.
I am glad you’ve all kept this going. I have been here for less than three months now and love it.
That’s a lucky shot for you with the bird showing itself.
@Alex I wait for bird to show up, I love taking pictures of birds.
