Caramel pudding – ideal for Kim's sepia colour challenge

Caramel bread pudding is one of the desserts I make often. I use leftover bread.  It is easy to make. Keep the mould ready with the caramel – you just need to burn sugar in the moould until it gets the caramel or shall I say sepia colour? Spread it all over the mould. Beat eggs and add them to the milk that is sweetened with sugar.  I like my pudding to be sweet. Soak the bread in water for a few seconds and add it to the mixture after squeezing out the water.   Add any flavouring. I like nutmeg. Nutmeg grows in our garden. A few raisins and broken cashew nuts make it a perfect pudding.

The pudding is either baked or steamed.  I prefer to steam it.
