The other day when I visited the park I found this vine on a neighboring hedge. It looked so round and pretty like candy. At first I thought it was ivy gourd ( a vegetable we eat all the time), but this looked different.
On closer examination the leaves looked a wee bit different and so did the vine. The ivy gourd has woody vines and thicker leaves that look very much like ivy. The fruits of the ivy gourd are longer and much bigger never so round and cute.
It could be a close cousin of the Ivy gourd but the fruits remained on the vine, parrots which are aplenty in the park wouldn’t leave them alone if they were indeed ivy gourd.
I loved the look of these and got several pictures of them.

I have never seen this fruit, dear Dawn … it really looks like candy
wow , this is something new for me . is this edible ?
They must be making a great picture with several on that vine. Are they edible?
I have no clue, I was surprised that the birds didn’t bother to eat them. Parrots love the Ivy gourd, so I was confused.
Those birds know better (lol)
I haven’t seen it before. I’d say it’s fruit.
It is a fruit but it looks like one of those candies. doesn’t it?
No, I have never seen it before. I assume it’s some kind of fruit.
It is a fruit, I was just remarking that it looks like some candies we here.
It looks so cute, I have never seen it before.
I think it is cute too.
This picture reminds me the days of childhood when I used to get confused bbetween this and candy.
Oh so you have seen these fruits, are these edible?
No, I don’t think these are edible
