Ghostwriter
My husband just wants to think the best of everyone. He often turns a blind eye to things the doesn’t understand or cannot deal with. This morning we were reading Virily Posts together and then I left him alone reading to get some chores done. After about 30 minutes he came to be distressed. He was worried and concerned.
He is under the impression that everyone here reads everything, carefully thinks about what was said and then makes comments. Today he saw some comments where it didn’t look like that had happened. He wanted to find a solution.
He came and asked me if there was a program that translated things into different languages. I told him yes. He said thank you and wandered off to think.
I guess it was about an hour later when he said, “Will you try something when you write your next post?”
I don’t just say yes. Some of his ideas are way over the top by my judgment. So I gave my standard answer, we can look at the options.
His idea was to put a link on my posts to a translator program, so perhaps those who do not speak English as their native language could quickly translate and perhaps have better comments and conversations. Do I think it could work? Yes, if anyone is truly interested in knowing and understanding what is said, but I am not sure most people really care about what is said.
I said that for a time I would do it and see if there was any feedback on the idea.

I can count on one hand the authors that don’t read the posts of others. But as is often the case I agree with your husband it is an issue.
i do think embedding the translation link is a good thing. i do often struggle with that.

It is really in how things and ideas are translated to make to have a better understanding of what is wrote or read.
So 1Mark, do you think we should put the link in the posts that we write?
I thin many wold use this, we have many members who do not speak English. Great idea your husband had!

I think your husband is smart and wise. There are many people here from other countries. I know they post in English but may prefer to check things out in their language as well. Great idea Ghostwriters husband.

This is a good example of why edit is needed. It looked perfect when I hit the publish button, but it is a mess in reality. Please Virily consider educating us about how the tool should be used and then reinstate it.
