If you could start your way from the new, would it be less pitted?
If I had the mind of today, I would have made all of my youth choices differently: rationally, without passionate insanity, just as parents advised. And who would I be then?Someone else, not me anymore.
Like a hero from Simone de Beauvoir’s book, “All Men Are Mortal” – an immortal, initially delighted with the gift of his eternity, he quickly felt that centuries of experience, wisdom, and rationality had turned into cynicism, and there was no passion or desire to live.
I’d rather make mistakes, will be stumbling, careless by the end, but sensitive to the wonders of life.
