My first exposure to Ice Skating was as a little kid, watching my parents on Lake Ripley. My knees don’t like the wear and tear of skating, and frankly, I never had the balance needed actually to be good. Straight lines, no problems turns, stops and things like that, big problems. But it is always fun to watch those who can do! Reston Town Center (Reston Virginia) has an Ice Skating rink (it is used for many things throughout the year). It is right next to one of my favorite restaurants, so on the way to the restaurant Friday, I snapped a picture of the Ice skating ring. If only I could turn, oh yeah and if I had the balance to stay up without falling. Still, always fun to walk by and see those than that can skate!

Have never been ice skating before. It is beautiful to watch.
It is, the young mom and son were amazingly graceful!
That sounds like fun, when ours opens I might have to go down and snap some pictures. That would be fun to do, hot cocoa sounds really good too.
You should, just keep the dogs off the Ice. Dogs and Ice are not a good combination!
I have never tried to ice skate. I have tried roller skating. I use that pole on the side the whole time. Move hands off pole, I go down. giggles. What a gorgeous place that is!! Looks like fun doesnt it. I know better though!!! 😉
My rule is hot cocoa, and watch everyone else! I like not having bruises from falling. Apparently people don’t realize that frozen water is HARD!
