Picnic Spots on the East Coast Road, Chennai

Chennai is the capital city of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a busy metropolis with a dense population. If one wants to get away from the hustle bustle of city, they need not travel too far. The east coast road connecting Chennai with Pondicherry offers a number of picnic spots closer to city. Starting from Muttukadu boat club, it has attractions like Dakshinachitra cultural museum and Crocodile bank. All the three spots give an opportunity to connect with nature. One can spend half a day in each of the spots. It is no wonder that the east coast road is considered the recreational hub of Chennai.

    • You are right Vidocka. Our residence is located on this stretch of road but on the city side. It takes just about half an hour for us to reach any of these three places. I cannot keep a count on how many times we would have visited Dakshinachitra or the boat club. But we visit crocodile bank less often.
