Rasnov is a town in Brasov county. It is located at 15 km from the city of Brasov and the same distance from Bran,named Dracula’s castle.The castle of Rasnov was built in the years 1211-1225 by Teutonic Knights. The village was raised many times by Tatars, Turks, Valachs but the castle was conquered only once by Gabriel Bathory. In 2002 the Castle and surroundings were used during the shooting of several scenes from film Cold Mountain.There is a famous well in the centre of the fortress;this was finished in 17 years by 2 Turkish soldiers captured in one battle. In August 2013 became the host of first extreme metal festival in Romania called Rockstadt Extreme fest.
