Ohinewai Views of the Waikato River.- Part One.

There is a turn off on the main highway from Auckland to Hamilton that has a sign saying ” Ohinewai”. This is where we turned off and we went to view the Waikato river. As there was some fog over the Waikato river,

Being 2nd June today as I write this post, it is officially winter in New Zealand.

Its cold but no snow in Auckland we do get frosts, and its cold and damp. Now there is the southerly winds with fingers of ice.

Here are some photos. There are no facilities here no shops or anything, but a lovely spot to have a nice picnic if you have brought your own. However, we went on afterwards to Taupri and had lunch at the Hopn Stopn Cafe by the river.
