Ooty has many standard attractions that any Hill station may have but what makes Ooty special are the many hidden surprises. Ooty is located in the blue mountain range or the Nilgiri as it is called in the local language and it is a beautiful place with greenery, valleys, lakes and meadows. The summer months could be unforgiving in the Indian plains and people throng to hill resorts. In this article, one would come across its numerous hidden gems like the heritage toy train pulled by a steam engine, bison valley, Pykara lake and Sim’s park. There are also heritage structures built during the British era that are worth a visit. Ooty should be on the bucket list of any traveler visiting India.
