Early morning view from our hotel in Parapat, overseeing Lake Toba, in Sumatera, Indonesia. Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world at a high elevation of 2953 ft. making it a favourite with holiday makers who seek the cool climate as an escape from the hot and humid lowlands. Noteworthy is that this largest lake in South-East Asia has an island (Samosir island) the size of Singapore in its centre!
