Devonport Views

I am standing on a hill that is called, "North Head". it has old guns in it. To try to defend New Zealand from possible enermies. 

It is long since become obsolete. New Zealand has best been defended by sheer isolation. 

You can walk around the North Head and this Yacht is one view I took. 

Devonport Ferries go from there to Auckland, you can also catch a Ferry to Waiheke Island or for another trip for another island in Auckland's Hauraki gulf.

This gives you an idea of what North head looks like and Rangitoto island is behind it. 

This is taken from Auckland city end, from Westhaven. This bridge links Auckland city to the North Shore. It is not the only bridge, but the other bridge is quite a long way away at Greenhithe. 

Yes, you can catch a ferry from Greenhithe to Auckland City. It is by Whenupai and Hobsonville air base. 

These buildings are one of the reasons why I like Devonport so much, it has character villas and character shops. The hill in the background is Mt Victoria. 

Travel from Devonport to Auckland takes about 10 minutes at the most.

Devonport is a lovely place to go to if you visit Auckland city, it is a short ferry trip and you can catch another bus or just wander around Devonport itself.
