One can hardly imagine a hard-drive this size and yet, when I entered the world of computers we had a special suspended computer room. It was air conditioned and required a full staff compliment of 20 workers. It’s components were no smaller than the hard drive above.
I remember when my Dad worked for IBM, I would go on service calls with him on the weekends. The computers were massive back then.
I had a huge 10 meg SCSI drive that was massive. It also cost a grand. I can nearly buy 100 terabytes for a grand now.
Great picture love the old IBM drive!
Incredible isn’t it? Now everything is tiny in the digital world.
