#1 My son and the dogs..

The old oak tree did not make it through the wildfires in 2008. The thing was massive. Check out the next photo.

There were a lot of huge oak trees that didn't make it, but most did. They provided great opportunities for shots, and I wasn't the only one. This lady came upon me as I was kneeling down to take this shot. She said hi, and passed. I went my direction she then stopped at this old tree, and took some pictures as well.

  Me too, I actually cried when this was on fire, back then I thought everything would be gone though. The reason this place killed so many of the old wood, is because it is a little valley, and up on the hillsides the fire was super hot, and didn’t travel fast. Down in the valley where there are a lot of the old oaks only a few of them didnt survive.

#3 Giant boulders on the hillside

This one looked like a serpent profile head to me.

#4 The serpent.

He only has one jagged tooth poking out of his mouth, which is the slit in the rock. Can you see what I see?

#5 All three dogs

My son was up ahead around that bend, and they had come back to check on me. Slow poke mom... Can you see all three dogs? The white wolfdog is hard to see.

#6 Partially cloudy!?

One cloud came over the mountain. I see a heart with an arrow through it..

The grass here started off green, then yellow, and the tips were red. It was so pretty.

#10 I thought this dead oak would create a cool silhouette.

  Thanks Grace, and a hat was needed at the beginning of the hike, there was no shade. I didn’t wear one and my head got hot. The sun here is so intense, even in the winter months.

  The fire was one hot fire. It lingered, meaning more of the old wood forest died than a normal wildfire that sweeps though fast. They did stop it before it reached the forest.
