There were a lot of huge oak trees that didn’t make it, but most did. They provided great opportunities for shots, and I wasn’t the only one. This lady came upon me as I was kneeling down to take this shot. She said hi, and passed. I went my direction she then stopped at this old tree, and took some pictures as well.
Makes me sad to hear of old trees not making it.
Me too, I actually cried when this was on fire, back then I thought everything would be gone though. The reason this place killed so many of the old wood, is because it is a little valley, and up on the hillsides the fire was super hot, and didn’t travel fast. Down in the valley where there are a lot of the old oaks only a few of them didnt survive.
