This was the view we had of the Himalayas from Nagarkot, Nepal at sunset. We took a trip up the highland and the place was already filling up with people taking their spots, readying their cameras and tripods!
Mission was not to catch the sunset… which was opposite this view but to catch the setting sun lighting up the Himalayas! Which was beautiful – my picture here does not do it justice! But what I am focusing on here are the red eagles that came out to play… Yes, those black silhouettes and spots on the picture are ALL red eagles! There was one point in the middle of sunset that the eagles swooped in and around, riding the light breeze – there must have been tons! Not a view one easily forgets… 🙂
Wonderful!
Thank you, Kathy! 🙂
Stunning view
Thank you, Elenka! 🙂
Just beauty view
Thank you, Olga!
With all the eagles and the mountains lit up in the afternoon glow is a hard scene to forget. I could only image what it must of been like. Your picture does do it justice, its wonderful.
You’re too kind, Kim! Thank you very much. And I highly recommend it, if you’re going that way… 🙂
Breathtaking Sunset!
Yes, it was wonderful… Thank you, Michelle
Breathtaking!
Very! And they’re not very shy either, swooping down quite close to us…
I guess they’ve no reason to be shy. And don’t the Tibetans still practice ‘sky burial’ whereby they leave dead bodies on high ledges for the eagles and other birds of prey to consume?
Ahaaa… maybe; I’ve read about that but not too sure if they still practise that today.
