Several “Painted Lady” butterflies descended on the iron weed today. At one point, there were eight or nine of them flitting about our flower garden. I had a tough time getting more than one in a picture frame though. The Painted Lady butterfly can be found throughout the majority of the continental United States. It obviously seems to be flourishing quite well here in Colorado based on the numbers in our backyard. While the majority of them flew away when I came out with my camera, I was able to get a few pictures of the braver ones.
