Climbing El Salto Falls and the Golden Hour

My oldest son is the adventurous type. He loves to climb rocks. Below are some photographs that didn’t make it into the first posts about the falls. Hope you enjoy.

This fall is located in between two towns in Southern California. Carlsbad and Oceanside. This fall is about 3 blocks away from where I live, and is not open to the public. Although in 2023 it will be a full park and walking trail from the beach to this fall, about  2 miles away.

Can he make it to the top?

It looks almost straight up and down.

No biggy, as a toddler he used to climb everything!!!

Almost to the top.. and a closer look.

Made it!

The dogs tried to follow, but found an easier way up. Below you see Maggie Mae, she is asking me to follow. I am terrified of heights. I had to say nope, no way.

Meika is getting dry… How can we fix this?

Another dip, that’s how!

There we go, this is how our coats are supposed to look like while at the creek.

As the shadows get long, the golden hour approaches. You see Meika in the shot below, but do you see another dog? There are two here.

I turned the camera off for a half an hour, and when I turned it back on I got some afternoon and evening shots..

Very long shadows..

Even though these are not photog quality , (they are a bit blurry), I still loved them.

And the last one….  ~ENJOY~
