Jogging on Sunday morning is a fun activity. Compared to normal days, we can see more people exercising everywhere.
This morning, in the middle of my walk, approaching the area at the end of the residential area, I saw several houses left by the occupants. One thing that interests me there as a bonsai lover is seeing how pity a bonsai that once must have been beautiful, has now become a big tree that just along with a crowd of other trees.
If you pay attention to the pine tree in the picture above, you can see the tree that I mean. The tree is a tree that we call “shrimp pine” (Casuarina equisetifolia). Maybe it’s because of its large, short, and bumpy stems that it’s called shrimp spruce. Another name might be the Horsetail tree or Australian pine tree.
From the outside of the fence, I could see that the tree before was in-pot bonsai which, after being neglected, became tall after the pot broke and its roots forage in the ground.
Well, because the owner has left it, he now lives according to its authenticity and becomes a part of natural greenery.
Wonderful picture the gray sky looks like what we had for most of July and August!
Well, the sky was quite pleasant because it held back the sun a little not too hot. Hopefully, this condition also applies to your area, Doc.
Lately, it seems the rain just cools us for a day and then, back to hot and uncomfortable. Soon the fall will be here!!!
Because we only have two seasons, it seems like the signs of the rainy season have arrived for us. Like in your place, the weather remains hot even though the sunlight is not too much.
Well sadly in part that is because of the issue of climate change we’ve created. But in part is the the evolution of perception as well.
I agree with your opinion, Doc.
Maybe trees prefers to be neglected and abandoned…lol
at least they can “do (grow) whatever they like”…
From the side of the tree, I really agree with your opinion, but from the side of humans who “want beauty”, that is a reality of inability to be responsible, unless we die.
Now that is deep…
should we be always shaping others or letting others shape us?
hmm… my mind refuse to work at this point
You don’t need to think hard about who formed who because it applies to both or we and others form or influence each other. As well as that you already made me happy and hopefully, I’ve done the same thing to you.
Hehe, that simplifies things…
of course you made us all happy and even learn something off your posts!!
Awh… That’s a nice comment, my friend. I feel richer with those words.
Haha, I don’t know my words can become money,,, lol XP
You just haven’t realized your true potential.
I should talk to my parents more lol
XD
In fact, I also have to thank your parents because they have given me a pleasant friend.
The green trees are beautiful. But I too know how much more beautiful the little bonsai trees are when properly trimmed and kept up. That is a shame to see one go neglected.
Unfortunately, many people want beauty without being able to take responsibility to care for and maintain its beauty. Many people have asked for the bonsai I made and the collection. Often I cannot refuse their requests, even if I refuse not because bonsai is expensive or I am stingy but because if somebody, not a bonsai lover, my gift will be short-lived, and it has been proven repeatedly. I think this also happens in life, for example where we expect happiness from love but are unable to care for or nurture it in order that happy love keeps alive.
That is too bad. Reminds me of people who want pets and then you see them neglected.
That is true. That is another example of an attitude that only wants to have but does not want to take care of… Responsible attitude.
That, along with respect, is what so many are lacking the days and it is very sad.
Yesterday, a friend shared stories about his unhappiness, about his failure to foster a family, maintain love with his partner, and have lost his family; his wife and children. That is very sad.
That is very sad indeed Albert. Many who are top of the mountain forget about those down in the valley.
Wow! That’s a wise saying that is right and in accordance with the essence of this writing, Carol.
It just popped into my head when I read your story in your comment. It is so true.
…and I’m glad you have shared the wisdom here. Thank you very much, Carol.
Not bad, yes trees are beauty, too. It is okay even if the bonsai tree became a full grown tree at least it serves its purpose.
You’re right, Mavic. Moreover, in addition to nothing I can do, there is also nothing I want to do about the tree.
Yes, you can always take it’s beauty by photographs. I do. ?
How interesting. I like to look at bonsai exhibits in parks because I think plants have a will of their own.
Bonsai is the art of dwarfing trees in accordance with the principle of trees in nature, even though it is not in accordance with the wishes of the tree but the desire of humans.
I never thought of it that way.
The principles in making a true and beautiful bonsai are to apply reality and natural law besides beauty in miniature, as well as in suiseki.
