Due to great temperatures today in Chicago, I got the chance to run outdoors. I contemplated either running the 606-Bloomingdale trail or in Humboldt Park neighborhood. Due to wanting that neighborhood scenery, I chose Humboldt Park! Prior to this run I drank one of the worse brands of coffee EVER, which was a purchase from Dollar Tree. I know! What was I thinking anyway to purchase coffee from a place like Dollar Tree? I was sold on it due to it being Hazelnut. But anyway! Once I opened it, I have to say that it smelt like a mixture of mud & coffee. Leave it to me to not want to toss it in the trash, so I tried it and did not like it! Furthermore, me not liking it resulted in me adding creamer to it, which slightly got rid of the mud taste, but the smell still lurked wherever I took it. Coffee does have dehydrating effects, but this coffee really did some work on me today. This run was only a 2 mile run, but I about died in dehydration within the last mile of it. Once I got back to my car, I poured out what I had left of it, and once I got back to my apartment I dumped the entire bag out of the window. Never again will I buy Premier – Roasted Ground Coffee or any coffee from Dollar Tree.
That’s a good point! Bad coffee even makes me feel bad sometimes.
I do feel bad for purchasing it; It was a waste of a dollar : )
I could have put that dollar towards something else.
I meant phisically, but you made a valid point. Even if it’s just a dollar, if you waste one here and another one there, eventually it can turn out a lot.
One of the bad things to get from dollar stores is coffee…I tried buying it a few years ago and it tasted like stale mud.
And that’s pretty much the same with this coffee. I cannot help but think of mud because when I was a kid I just happened to have tasted mud. And how can I forget that taste. : )
The packaging looked inviting, but the taste is what matters. Sounds gross!
Definitely looked inviting, LaJenna to the color of the package, and what’s featured on it.
I know coffee has some good beneficial effect to those who drink it. But for me, I never drink coffee.
That’s good, Gil. I reccomend not drinking it because it is addicting. It you drink the right brand and add the right accessories.
My parents are drinking coffee. I don’t know why I never or don’t like to drink coffee. Since I was a kid, I never drink it.
I was exposed to as a kid, but later as an adult I drank it as a replacement for a energy drink and fell in love with it. They used to fill my hotel room with it, so I kept drinking it
I agree … I also want to drink good coffee
The best coffee I have had so far is Hawaiian coffee. You’ll have to try it ♡
I will share a writing about it
My day doesn’t start until I drink a good cup of coffee.
I’m getting towards that age where I rely on coffee or Pepsi: )
Actually drinking Pepsi as I respond to get me through my work shift
I am a coffee drinker but I don’t try other brands aside from the local brands we have.
I took an interest in it because of its cheap price and also it being hazelnut. Never again though : )
I’m very curious to try puerto rican coffee, but other than that I will stick to my old brands.
I say that life is too short for stimulants of any sort
Coffee drinkers get a pass though : )
it’s up to you, but I am all about sedatives…
I’ll definitely mention it : )
To each their own, but I’m hyper enough without caffeine or sugar making it worse. I’d like to sleep sometime this week…
I see! There is a famous runner I read about that lacks sleep, but he’s one of the most well accomplished. Actually one of my main inspirations to run. I’ll mention him at some point in a writing. He’s Dean Karnazes
Damn! Now I see why your posts flow out like crazy. Very consistent!
and all on four hours of sleep!
I would be very grouchy with only 4 hours of sleep.
I certainly was until I got used to it… Now it is no big deal
Life is too short true.. I also like good coffee… so everytime I went to another country I will buy their ground coffee so I can taste it.
I don’t blame you. I have fell in love with Hawaiian coffee, but would love to try coffee from Puerto Rico at some point, since I do live near a dominantly Puerto Rican neighborhood.
Life is too short to pay for expensive coffee lol. (that is just the first thought that hopped into my head when I read the title. lol
That too, lol. I refuse to pay for expensive coffee, which is why I seeked it out at a Dollar Tree, lol.
