TV and respect

Today, I was watching a TV show on television. I don’t always watch the series but today’s episode caught my attention and it’s one of those moments you wanna know what will happen next. A showdown between 2 characters.

Someone came back home, took the remote. I told him, that I am watching. But still he proceeded to switch the channel, claiming that he is only checking the program guide.

I waited for him to check but by the end of it, I just walk away and told him I don’t want to watch anymore. It may sounds petty but switching the channel despite me saying I’m watching and then taking his own sweet time checking is not very respectful to me. So I don’t feel the need to be respectful to him.

If I’ve passed that part of the show or when the show finishes 15 minutes later, I would gladly hand over the television. But he couldn’t wait.

This happened more than once, he had always used this excuse and if he switched and found a nice show, he’d NEVER switch back.

I’ve proceeded to try finding the episode online but have yet find it. However, I’ve looked up for episodes of all other dramas I’m watching on TV and downloading them, just in case.

Similar situation, but different attitude – Ghostwriter’s husband asked her about the situation later on, for my case, he doesn’t feel its wrong at all.
