Service dog reunites with his owner one day being inside a stolen SUV

Wrigley is a two year old mixed Rhodesian Ridgeback male dog was in the wrong place at the wrong time on Tuesday when three criminals went behind an SUV that is owned by Lana Whitner and her husband Tim who were at a Flying J truck stop in Indianapolis.

The three criminals took off with the SUV that had Wrigley inside as an extra passenger. After the SUV was stolen the Whitners contacted the Indianapolis Metro Police Department (IMPD) to report the crime.

The relationship with Wrigley and his owners is that both Tim and Lana served in the United States Marines. Since both Tim and Lana go through periods of depression and stress due to their line of work with the military, a service dog was selected to be their companion.

The Indianapolis Police and through the work of social media placed the kidnapping of Wrigley as front news in the Indianapolis market.

Thanks to the alert lookout of the citizens in Indianapolis, two of three of the alleged criminals were taken into custody the next day after the incident happened.

When the Whitners recovered their stolen SUV, Wrigley was nowhere to be found. However the Indianapolis police officers show Tim and Lana how to recover their dog safe and sound.

The Indianapolis police used a tactic of having the shirts on the ground in the area where Wrigley would use his smell to trace his reunion with his owners which was a very beautiful site to see Wrigley reunite with his owners one day after he was kidnapped by the auto thieves.

  1. I agree with you since it would have heartbreaking if Wrigley did not reunite with his owner since he has special needs related to combat duty overseas.
