Have been out and about today, appointments and errands. I noticed at the dairy farm behind the house there were new cows. I had to take a walk to try and get a photo. The closer I got, which was still not very close due to the mud, I realized they were not cows.

Buffaloes! I plan to go back when the mud dries up a bit and not water everywhere from all the rain. I want to get closer and get some better photos. I was so shocked to see these five buffaloes laying around where the cows used to be. They are huge. It was really cool to see them so close to the house. Stay tuned for more photos.
I am continuing with the 365 Photos Challenge and I am now on Day 100.
Great! You are lucky to have these new neighbors:)
I think so too Lapka, thanks!
Interesting neighbors you got there — I read your latest entry about them but my comment did not post — will give it one more try. What we have in my country are called carabaos — dark skinned ones
I know and I did not even know until a few days ago. I thought they were cows at first from a distance. Since it was a dairy farm. That is cool to hear about yours.
Our African buffaloes are considerably different to yours in the Americas. No doubt they are still buffaloes
I have been reading about buffaloes vs bison and there is a difference but you call them buffaloes, correct?
I have never seen this animal live……
I have only seen them at zoos. It is exciting!
That’s very interesting! Great photo!!
Thanks Courtney, not a good picture I was so far away.
Me too, I’d love to see more photos of these. I’m guessing they’re what we here call bison?
I am going to get more, I really should not have posted this one, you can barely tell they are buffaloes! But it was as close as I could get. Yes they are in the same family but with slight differences. I will write more about them with new photos hopefully soon.
I’m looking forward to it 😀
Me too, we have sunshine the next couple of days so we will see if I can get closer. I could put on my boots! 🙂
Apparently, there are new interesting things around you, Carol. That would be fun!
I know, I need to get out more often. 🙂
I’ll be glad to see more pictures. I have never seen this animal live.
I will definitely get more soon, we have had flooding around where I live making it hard to get out. But I will so stay tuned.
