During our trip to Palina River, I found some hermit crabs. This one actually was found by my wife’s aunt.
Hermit crabs does not have a shell of their own. They move in on the abandoned shell they can find. Once they outgrow a shell, they will leave it and find a bigger one.
Locally, we call it “umang” a word equivalent to the word confused – so named because they are always confused and they don’t know where they live.
