Belen – 365 Photos Challenge #27

This is my 5th attempt to upload this. The Internet connection was just so unstable. Probably because of the storm on another part of the country.

Belen or the Nativity Scene

A number of these Belens (Nativity Scene) are displayed on a school ground. The  Belens were made of mostly native and recycled materials. I particularly liked this one.

While it is mostly made of bamboo, coconut leaves and ropes, what caught my attention was the Holy Family, the Three Kings and even the angels are made of old rubber tires. Maybe I should take a close up pic next time.

    • yeah. I read about the protest which they started to do a few years ago. Philippines though is mostly predominantly Catholic, so this has been a long standing tradition accepted even by non-Catholic Christians.
