The dictionary defines anticipation as the act of looking forward. That is exactly what I am doing with my rose bush. While walking in my yard I noticed the rose bush in Dustin’s garden has green leaves! That is definitely a first sign of hope, excitement, peace and anticipation of blooms coming soon.

Happiness lies in the imagination, not the act. Pleasure is found first in anticipation, later in memory. ~ Julian Barnes, Flaubert’s Parrot

Yesterday I made some bolognaise, and then simply heaved it onto the floor. As I sit here writing this, I watching the pile of muck, anticipating the ground meat to fester, slowly becoming rancid and foul, until the maggots eat it away, thus completing the sad circle of life that we will all succumb to in years from now. Great post.
