Decorating for the Holidays

Each Christmas I am torn. To decorate or not. Holidays are difficult when you have lost loved ones. But I know each one would want me to be happy. So I have decided to decorate this year. These are decorations from last year. I may change it up a bit. But the wreath on the door will be the same.

I have a friend in Australia and we exchange gifts each year. I always treasure the gifts I get. Ornaments are usually part of the gift. I got this one a few years ago. A kangaroo!

Eeyore is my all time hero. He is such a cool Disney character. I have many ornaments of him. This is one of my favorites. Eeyore and his friends Pooh and Rabbit.

So what about you? Do you decorate for Christmas? I would love to hear your different ways of decorating or whatever your traditions are for the holidays. The main thing is that we all enjoy our loved ones and try to strive for peace and happiness.

  1. Great post, and that’s great to decorate, thanks for sharing about your decorations. We will definitely be decorating because my son is really into it, he even gets his own little tree for his room.

  2. Nice and interesting post, Carol. I feel your conflict. For myself, I have no idea how I’m going to get through this Christmas, the first with our family so depleted. Eeyore is one of my favourites too, and I just love that kangaroo your Aussie friend sent you 🙂

    • Take it a day at a time Norman, every year, almost 15 years later I am still conflicted. When I realized it is ok to do what we feel our hearts can tolerate, that made it a lot easier. Something as small as lighting a candle beside Dustin’s picture has been my decorating at times. I also love the kangaroo and Eeyore, well Eeyore is the best. 🙂
