When I buy Christmas gifts for others, I usually stick to buying gift cards. I cannot read the minds of the recipients. I do not know what they want. I give them gift cards so that they can buy what they want.
However, there is a new holiday scam going around at this time of the year. Scammers are going into stores and placing their own bar codes over the original bar codes. When the store clerk scans the fake bar code that is over the original bar code, then the money goes to the scammers. To avoid being scammed, grab your card from the back of the kiosk.
I think its rampant only in US
Gift cards are bought and sold all over the world.
I’m also increasingly using gift cards.
It saves so much time in shopping.
Just ne careful when using gift cards it can be hacked too
I do not buy gift cards online but directly at the store. I do not trust online.
I wonder how the world would look like if all the scammers used their potential for something positive.
Yup, that is usually the difference between heroes and villains.
I wasn’t aware of this and I often give gift cards but usually buy and send them online.
That’s a very good way to get around scams. Cut out the middle man.
always a new way to rip someone off
For them to apply the stickers on the cards in the store proves that the employees are not paid enough to care like they are supposed to care.
if they aren’t making a living wage, if they’re being overworked, why should they care?
