The workout

I was not much in the mood for an outdoor workout today due to the heat, so I relaxed majority of the day. The urge to bike was there late evening, but I usually avoid going out late unless it is to grab dinner or a snack. 

Conducted a 5 minute HIIT (High-intensity interval training) workout this evening in my toasty living room which felt satisfying being that the exercises were mostly lower body. I love HIIT because its nothing too excruciating on my joints and they are at a reasonable pace. 

HIIT

  • Low jump jacks
  • One leg rope jump
  • Cross country run
  • Butt kickers
  • Twisted mountain climbers
  • Rest
  • Outer thigh raises
  • Swimmer
  • Jumping jacks
  • Running in place

Bonus

  • U Boat – 30 Repetitions
  • 30 Push ups
  • 25 Alternating toe touches

With it being the 4th of July tomorrow I plan to get the workout in early whether it be running on the trail or cycling downtown Chicago.
