The workout

Sometimes I just need that extra pick me up in the form of an energy drink to kick my ass into gear. Prior to this workout I took an unexpected nap because it ended up raining and rain typically puts me in a relaxed state of mind.

[After workout picture] – Stormy weather hindered me from using my phone which I use the GPS feature from Google play store . I didn’t have my fanny pack with me in order to keep it from getting wet, so it left me with using my Garmin watch. In order to make my workout my workout fun I utilized the interval feature on my watch. The interval feature allows me to set a certain distance and repeat that distance for the number of times of my choosing. I kept it easy in order to not strain my muscles, yet still increasing my stride in the process.

Plyometrics

  • Jump squats
  • Frog jumps
  • Star jump
  • High jump
  • Rest
  • One leg jumps
  • Back & forth squat
  • Skaters

Following my run I did a plyometrics workout which kicked my butt! Never again after a run because most of the plyometrics exercises involved me jumping either side to side or forward and back. My legs were already fatigued from the run, so I didn’t put much effort into the workout. Plyometrics is a good cross training workout to do, but never following an actual workout involving the legs.
