Health Update & Plans

I wanted to post an update on my life and health since it’s been a few months.

As you all know I am a type 2 diabetic.  For my health, I need to follow a low carb diet.

Unfortunately the past few months have been crazy and with the holidays coming up, I haven’t stuck to the low carb diet. My sugars have been running high for the most part–but that’s a given when you eat high carbs with diabetes.

What’s also interesting is I have gained almost 20 pounds in less than 2 months. I am sure it’s mostly just water weight which I would lose once I go back to a low carb lifestyle.

After Christmas is over, I will be going back to a low carb diet — most likely the ketogenic diet.

Speaking of getting back on low carb after Christmas, I think I will be posting an update daily on my journey. I figure it would keep me accountable….and be a challenge for myself.  Do you all think that is a good plan?

I got to start again and stick to the low carb way of eating.

Do any of you follow any kind of low carb diet? I would love to hear your stories.

What do you think?

  1. Keep a journal and consume a high protein diet instead. Eat raw nuts, like almonds often, these will help you with your diabetes and keep you satisfied. Walk 30 minutes per day or every other day. Gaining weight is a no no. Hope this helps a bit.
