We have sweetgum trees here in the yard. These Pods are a real nuisance when the tree sheds its leaves and these pods in fall. This is photo of what one looks likes when they are first forming on the tree.
They turn dark brown later on and are something you don’t want to step on.
If that’s not a fractal found in Nature, I don’t know WHAT is!
Oh, this is so cool…:)
Great macro, lovely bokeh… Looks kinda alien
Yes it does and if one of these ever gets between your flip-flop and your foot you will make Alien exclamations
Hahahahaaa…. super sharp, I take it…
Kinda like a Sand spur on steroids
Yes and dangerous for the lawnmower.
Indeed, I use a mulching blade and make quick work of them.
I could be wrong but I think we have them up this way.
Im in Georgia, after Pine trees this is the most abundant tree around. Awesome shade for your house in the heat of Summer, but a real mess to clean up in the fall.
Something we don’t have but great post
Thank you
