Sad Girl in Snow – WIP

So this piece has two distinctly Japanese components- first is the notion of a sad girl in snow. I don’t really understand it but am familiar with the concept. It must be a Hokkaido thing. The next is the notion of a pop idol, or idoru. Many nations have a notion of a superstar, but few formalize it the way the Japanese have…

so she's a sad girl and she's in snow. from her dress, she's obviously idoru. this would doubtless be an album cover or at least promotional material

    I do feel sad when I slip and fall on ice, so maybe that’s part of the reason. Or red cheeks and nose bitten by the cold remind of the face someone has after they cried.
