This little guy named Noah was playing after his bath while I took a number of photos to paint from. I love his skin coloring. He was fun to make into a little angel. The paper is wrinkled using my favorite watercolor technique of wading the wet paper up and then spreading it out to force bruises and crinkles into the watercolor paper. It is a fascinating texture to paint on and gives a dimension to the painting that wouldn’t be there otherwise.
First I paint the background colors onto the wet wrinkled paper and when it is dry I add the details and the human form. Painting on the dried wrinkled paper is a challenge but not impossible as you can see. Try it sometime.
Adorable painting

Thank you. I know the baby’s foot was twisted in the photo I took but I don’t think I captured it here as well as I could have. Thanks for commenting.
