Green Machines

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”

― Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

I’m nearing twenty years now as a digital artist, and I think I understand what Stephen King meant by this Quote. I’m disabled and have a lot of free time. I stop Madness from consuming me by creating works of art. I do this almost all day, everyday. If I am not creating something, I’m promoting myself, teaching someone to do this or supporting other Artists.

Like anything else you do, it has a tendency to Invade your dreams at night. My art invades mine. I keep a sketch pad on my nightstand and many nights I wake from a dream and sketch something I saw in the dream. The next day, I go to work bringing that vision to a Cyber Reality.

These 3D models were created with various PC software. The El Camino was a collaboration between myself and another 3D artist named Doberman. The Machine in the foreground is the ‘Gamma- Ray’ its been my Nemesis for over two years now, always changing and morphing into something more bizarre.

  1. Great collaboration. I too can relate to a lot of what you’ve mentioned. I was actually trained on old fashioned graphic work at the age of 15, I’m still learning digital, self taught, as well. Soon I shall attempt to write my story, but I’m by nature a bit more evasive when it comes to these things.
