In many paintings and other works of art throughout history, the calla lily has been depicted with the Virgin Mary or Angel of Annunciation. For this reason, it has been associated with holiness, faith and purity. Additionally, as the cone-line flowers blossom in spring, they have become symbols of youth and rebirth.

Lovely painting!
Thank you, Rachel:)
Love this, I wish I could do faces. I try to stay very clear of them at all costs.. Now I can do skulls which is strange I cant do a beautiful face!
Oh, really?? I am sure you can have a go at it…I am sure you can up with something if you do abstract or semi-abstract face..that would be cool Elizabeth 🙂 I have never tried painting skulls..

Absolutely Fab, Jolanta… no, not like the show (which not many people remember anyway) 😉 It is a really amazing painting – great concept, well thought out and brought to life with elegance and ease …great composition, form and color, another one of my favorites … ok, and the poppies 🙂
Stunning beauty! I love the flow in the blossom-hat.
absolutely fabulous!
It is very exquisite. I was driving a tapestry some time ago, saying, “The Girl with the Hat.” Unfortunately, it’s not here with me, but it has become really beautiful like your creation.
Her look is so elegant
Thank you, Kathy 🙂 wouldn’t it be fun to be wearing this type of headdress on our heads?? lol
