In many paintings and other works of art throughout history, the calla lily has been depicted with the Virgin Mary or Angel of Annunciation. For this reason, it has been associated with holiness, faith and purity. Additionally, as the cone-line flowers blossom in spring, they have become symbols of youth and rebirth.

Love this, I wish I could do faces. I try to stay very clear of them at all costs.. Now I can do skulls which is strange I cant do a beautiful face!

Absolutely Fab, Jolanta… no, not like the show (which not many people remember anyway) 😉 It is a really amazing painting – great concept, well thought out and brought to life with elegance and ease …great composition, form and color, another one of my favorites … ok, and the poppies 🙂
