The exhibits at this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition were certainly a mixed bag. Among works of pure genius were some that really made me wonder if the viewing public were being taken for a ride.
This one is entitled “Snow White: Some Day Her Prince Will Come”, and it is by Rose Wylie, who is not only an OBE (i.e. the recipient of a major national award) but also a Senior Academician of the Royal Academy. In other words, one of the country’s leading artists.
Just what is going on here?
art is subjective is the sad answer.
Perhaps best brought together by Warhol. Each of us gets our 15 minutes of fame.
All I can say is that it must be a new art style or a completely ridiculous piece of art that looks like it was done by a toddler and should take place of honor on a fridge by a proud parent.
I am not good with arts but I certainly admire good artworks.
I guess Art is subjective …
there must be people who really enjoyed her art style
or perhaps there is some sarcasm in that one?
You might be right. I have not knowingly seen any other work by this artist, so I have no way of telling if this is typical of her.
